Information Collection and Use is the sole owner of the information collected on this site.  We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from those disclosed in this statement.  There are a variety of ways websites collect and use information.  Free-Fiction uses only one, our newsletter, links to which can be found on several pages.

In order to use some websites, a user must first complete the registration form.  We do not presently ask visitors to register in order to read our books, so no personal or demographic information is collected.

Order does not sell our books.  They are free to read in their entirety, so no personal or billing information is ever needed.or requested.  Should you ever receive requests for money from authors or anyone claiming affiliation with this site, please notify the editor, Mary Ellen Knox.

At this time, does not use cookies (pieces of data stored on the userís hard drive containing information about the user).  However, visitors should be aware that many of the advertisers listed in our ads do.  We have no access to or control over these cookies.  Each of those sites should have their own privacy policies you can check for further information.

Log Files
We do keep log files.  We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track userís movement, gather broad demographic information for aggregate use, and determine author/book usages.  IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

We collect very little information to begin with, only newsletter contacts and log files.  We do not share that information with our advertisers.  Any information they collect is done through their own sites, not ours and you should check their privacy policies if you have any questions or concerns regarding their services or data collection.

This web site contains many links to other sites through our ads. Please be aware that we,, are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites.  We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information.  This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Web site.

If a user wishes to subscribe to our newsletter, we ask for contact information such as name and email address, used solely for delivering our newsletter with information about site updates, new books and products.

Surveys & Contests
From time-to-time our site might request information from users via surveys or contests.  Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information.  Information requested may include contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code, age level).  Contact information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes.  Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site.

If we decide to include such a service (we presently do not), and a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our site, we would ask them for the friendís name and email address. would then automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the site.  We would store this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email.  We would include a contact option on our Contact Us page so the friend could request the removal of this information from their database.

This website will always take every precaution to protect our usersí information.  However, we do not request any sensitive information such as credit card and/or social security information

Our Discussion Forum resides on Delphi and requires registration with that service in order to post.  Please check with Delphiís privacy policy, TOS agreements and FAQs for any questions related to information gathered by them.  Within the forum, the host has access through Delphi programming to visitor lists and logs.  We may send a Welcome letter to new visitors via the Delphi system; however, we do not have access to any personal information such as real name or email address beyond that provided voluntarily by the user either through their online profile or signature links.

Users who no longer wish to receive our newsletter or promotional materials from our partners may opt-out of receiving these communications by replying to unsubscribe in the subject line in the email or emailing us at   

Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our Homepage so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.  If at any point we decide to collect or use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email.  Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
